Why singapore should not step up on cctv surveillance

I do no think that singapore should step up on cctv surveillance as it would only waste money. Firstly, there are rarely many crimes that happen in singapore. And even if many crimes are happening, I think the criminal would be smart enough to hide his identity by wearing a mask over his or her face and wear gloves to prevent being detected. So even if there was a cctv around , it would only be able to catch the criminals doing the crime and nothing else. Also, during this economy crisis, i don't think that the government should be wasting precious money on cctv cameras. And lastly, if cctv cameras are placed all over the streets and corridors, many people would not be happy with their lack of privacy as they may not like a cctv watching their houses 24 hours,7 days a week. Hence, I think that singapore should not step up on cctv surveillance and only place cctv cameras at places that require high security like jails and such.

  1. I disagree with a few clauses you had made in your post.
The first one is "Firstly, there are rarely many crimes that happen in singapore. And even if many crimes are happening, I think the criminal would be smart enough to hide his identity by wearing a mask over his or her face and wear gloves to prevent being detected." You said that there are rarely many crimes that are happening in S'pore, and even if there are, the criminal would hide his identity. You had said that there are still crimes happening in S'pore, so we should install some CCTV to keep the crimes rate to the minimum. And what has gloves to do to prevent the identity of the criminal? Hope you would clarify your statement.

The second clause that you've mentioned, "Also, during this economy crisis, i don't think that the government should be wasting precious money on cctv cameras."
Yes, we are now facing an economic crisis. But the only way to get out of this economic crisis is to spend money. Money spent would in turn have a spillover effect and create more jobs for those in the working industry. Where do the money come from? It is from the taxpayers, who are all of us. So i think the government would want to keep the citizens safe from crimes, and i think the money is well spent if they are installing more CCTVs in S'pore.

And yes, privacy. Who would want someone watching them every second of the day? But would you rather live in a society where there is privacy set for the citizens but there is crimes happening almost everyday, or a society where there is tight surveillance and there is almost no crimes happening but your privacy is somehow intruded.

Thats all i got to say. Thank you.

  2. I disagree with what you said in your posts, you claim that it would be a waste of money if Singapore step up on cctv surveillance. You said that Singapore is currently facing economy crisis and more people would go broke. What they can't control themselves and turn to desperate for money? They may even start to rob/steal.Without cctvs, do you even think those people would be caught just with police?
    Secondly, about the privacy part,
would you rather be robbed or be watched over?
As most Singaporeans like to say, it is better safe than sorry. It is no point crying over spilled milk, like regretting not installing cctvs after you get robbed.
Hence, I think that cctvs should be step up in Singapore and cctvs are not a waste of money.
    Thank You

  3. If you are of the opinion that CCTV cameras are instruments used by Big Brother-type governments and employers to spy on your most private matters, then you will welcome their presence in medical care facilities for those with mental illnesses. And if you are also of the opinion that Big Brother contestants need to have their brains checked with the way they flirt with and flaunt at the cameras 24/7, you cannot accuse staff and patients with such deliberate displays of skin and silliness. https://safedepositbox123456.blogspot.com/2021/01/can-you-put-money-in-safe-deposit-box.html

  4. While it is very possible for a dummy CCTV camera to provide the reassurance of a real video monitoring system, they should not be relied on to give your property added security. Since they obviously don't have any recording facilities built in they will be a deterrent only. If you live in a high risk area then saving a few dollars by going "fake" is not advisable - the money would be better spent implementing a real home security system. If however you are really short on cash then dummy CCTV cameras are a valid option to reduce the risk of crime striking on your home or business. กล้องวงจรปิด ราคา
