Disadvantages of Installing CCTV Surveillance Cameras

Done by: Kelvin Eng Wei Min (09)

Looks like my cover was blown. Yep, previously, I copied and pasted, but now, I shall "write" down the disadvantages of installing CCTV Surveillance Cameras.
Firstly, if these cameras are put all over the place (streets, alleyways, walkways, etc.), people will not have sufficient privacy and it will actually be terrifying for some. Let's see, if these cameras were installed in public toilets, oh, that would certainly NOT be nice. Secondly and lastly, do these cameras improve the behaviour of schoolchildren? They will, only when they know they are being watched, and will therefore "act normally". This means that they will only behave when they are being watched and become "insane" when they aren't. So this means that the school did NOT manage to have a better environment for the kids.

  2. "Firstly, if these cameras are put all over the place (streets, alleyways, walkways, etc.), people will not have sufficient privacy" - These are not private places. Anyone can see you in public without the need of a camera.
"and it will actually be terrifying for some" - if it's terrifying for somebody to be seen in a public place they should not leave their homes.
"Let's see, if these cameras were installed in public toilets, oh, that would certainly NOT be nice." - Obviously, even thou a public restroom is public the stall area is private. No responsible entity is installing cameras on toilets.
"Secondly and lastly, do these cameras improve the behaviour of schoolchildren? They will, only when they know they are being watched, and will therefore "act normally". This means that they will only behave when they are being watched and become "insane" when they aren't." - Are you a parent? Kids (and adults too) behave different when are not being watched. It is up to the parents to educate their kids to have a sense of whats right and whats wrong. Even thou my kids might behave different when I am not watching, I know the will not behave "insane". Besides, how does NOT HAVING the camera in place makes your argument any better. On the contrary, I see it as a positive thing.
"So this means that the school did NOT manage to have a better environment for the kids." - How can you blame a school for kids that do not know how to behave themselves. Wouldn't the CCTV be an aid for the school to prevent ruthless behavior. If your child were a victim of a class bully and it's someone word against another's, wouldn't it be nice to have irrefutable evidence?
