I would be talking about the advantages of CCTV SURVEILLANCE .
CCTVs are used all around the world to ensure that they have surveillance on what is happening around us. CCTVs are used in many places for example homes, malls, banks and many many more places to ensure the safety. When CCTVs are present, it helps to lower the crime rate as when thieves see the CCTVs they will think twice on whether they should steal or not as they know that they will be filmed. This would also ensure their behavior to be good.
The use of CCTV also helps to lower the pressure on the guards that are employed as instead of having frequent patrols, the guards can just seat in a room and monitor what is happening in the area. Therefore, the cameras can solve crimes and also prevent crimes. This ensures that Singapore would be much more safer, without them, Singapore would become a less safer place.

I would like to point out that some thieves do not really care if they are being filmed or not, as they could easily hide their faces from the cameras or just be more careful when they are stealing something.
secondly, if the guard watching the cctv monitors falls asleep or is not paying much attention to the screen on time, he will not be able to catch the thieve quickly as the thieve would most likely run away from the shopping mall already and would not stroll around the shopping mall . though cctv cameras may help prevent some serious crimes, it really would be a waste of money to place them in public areas like shopping malls etc...

I find that if CCTV were to be installed and the guards can just seat in a room and monitor, then they would be slacking and sometimes even sleeping. This would let the security level to drop. Even with this CCTV installed, i know it can help in catching robbers etc but this has to wait for the thing to happen before the CCTV can snap it down. So in other words i find that the guard should not just rely on CCTV and has to go for a check every hour or so as if thats the case, the guard will then be able to catch the culprit immediately and not waiting for what the culprit is about to do :D
