Sec 2 English E-learning: What will you defend?

I am Reynold Chia, Index No. 5 of 2I.
Here are my views on the questions given.

1) What do you hold most dear in life such that you would strive to protect and defend in times of threat or crisis?
In times like this, I will most definitely protect all my family if I have the power and ability to do so. In my family, my father has always been working very hard to earn money for the family and my mum has always been cooking food for me, doing housework There is also my younger brother, who has always accompanied me so that I won't feel lonely. He may be a nuisance at times, but I have to treasure him as he is the only sibling I have. I would like to protect them as they are the closest people to me in blood relation terms and have always protected me and took care of me since young. If there were a time of threat or crisis, I feel that it is just natural for us to return the favor by taking care of them. As the saying goes, "Blood is thicker than water", the bonds formed through blood running through the entire family is much stronger than bonds formed with friends of strangers, hence this is another reason why I want to protect my family first.

2) For the above question, state three different aspects and include in your responses, why you think these specific aspects are important to you.
The three different aspects that I think are important to me are, family, friends and my country. Firstly, I think that family is important as they are the closest people to us who take care of us when we are down with an illness or when we need food or water to survive. Siblings in the family also keep us accompanied so that we won't feel so lonely. Secondly, I think that friends are important as they have supported and helped me when I am at the darkest of times, other than that, they also cheer me up when I am down, just like when I was recently down with a common flu, friends called me to make sure that I was alright, which made me feel much better. Therefore, I feel that friends are not just people who are there just to seek help from, but also part of our personal lives. Lastly, I think that my country is important as it holds so many potential people who can do great things to the society as there are many children who may grow up to be very useful and kind-hearted people. Thus, they must be protected. Hence, I think that my country is important.

  1. I agree with you that the three aspects, family, friends and country are very important to us all. Our family took good care of us and our friends are concerned about us. I also agree i with you that there are a lot of people who had potential in doing great things so they must be protected.
